Fossil Watch Advert

Today I decided to create another advert but with a watch this time. I wanted to further challenge myself and so I picked something different, in this case a watch by the brand Fossil. I had seen before a variety of watch adverts and the shots that they had created, so I was going in with some idea of what I wanted it was just a case of figuring out how they created it. I had the same setup I used for the Banana Beer advert, my wardrobe with all my clothes taken out of, so this gave me the space in which I can create the advert and control the lighting conditions. One challenge that I faced was trying to recreate a mirror effect with the watch as this is used a lot in watch adverts. I knew I could just create the effect in post but I wanted to create it on set, because I didn't have a spare mirror handy I put my laptop upside down so that the screen was on the bottom and then put the watch on top of it. This created the reflection I was after, then I shone my phone light around it whilst recording with my camera, this created the classic shot of light moving around the watch face which I was pleased with. I then used my lenses for my iPhone, got some macro shots and other various shots, edited it all together and then I was finished! overall I was happy with the outcome and learned a lot of new things, it taught me that you don't have to have expensive equipment to create something good.
